Buyer Beware!!

Beware of this product. To give a quick summary: 1. Our freezer stopped working after 2.5 years. 2. Frigidaires standard warranty for this unit is only 2 years vs 5 years compared to many of their competitors. 3. Frigidaires service department sent a technician who used the wrong refrigerant. 4. We cannot get a refund or move to getting a second opinion due to the fact their hired technician still hasn™€™t provided a report after 2 weeks. We purchased this refrigerator Freezer standalone product 2.5 years ago and loved them until our freezer stopped getting cold. We reached out to Frigidaires service department and paid them to come out to diagnose the issue and repair. They hired a 3rd party company who came out over two weeks ago and there is still no resolution or path forward. This technician gave the assessment that the freezer was in repairable claiming there was an internal leak of the sealed system in the cabinet where it is not accessible. While the technician was troubleshooting, he filled the refrigerant lines with the wrong refrigerant and mixed refrigerants which is against EPA regulations and local laws. It is also worth mentioning that using the wrong refrigerant can cause damage to the components and can be a potential hazard. Overall such a bad service experience and poor quality product that should last much longer than 2.5 years. I wish Frigidaire stood behind their product more and cared about the customers experience.

Like the other recent reviewer, our freezer/ice maker is leaking water inside and then makes it way onto your hardwood floor. It is not repairable. Ours is just over 2 years old so we are expected to just buy another. Reading on here and Reddit, this is a known issue and a manufacturing defect. No way a plastic water line/elbow should be allowed to freeze inside a freezer. They know that and have since made changes I understand. Ours is just out of warranty but I'm not letting this go due to it being a known design defect.

The 5 year old Electrolux ice maker breaks down because the water line freezes inside the freezer. Your kidding me right? Subsequently find out there is no part to fix the problem. The fix is to buy 1/2 the fridge for $3200 (the entire fridge cost $7000 five years ago). This cannot be possible. This a massive mistake in engineering (a frozen water line in the freezer section breaks the icemaker) or its outright fraud, making a home owner buy a new fridge or 1/2 the fridge. Again, there is no part to fix just the ice maker? That is what we were told by our local furniture store and heard his call to the Frigidaire customer service rep. There should of been a recall or other fix for the icemaker, even if its $400-500. FYI The new models have a heater on the water line now and the part can be replaced if there is a problem.I expect a full response by someone in product development, not customer service. Good grief

We bought this freezer and refrigerator for its premium look in 2020, but that's about all you get, just looks. From the first day, we noticed the digital temperature reading is off by several degrees. No problem, we were able to adjust accordingly. Next comes the frosting at the top. We had technicians come out to service it. They tried putting silicone around the seal a couple of times to no avail. This caused so much stress to let strangers into our house during the worst days of covid. We learned to put up with the frost build up at the top. We learned to put up with the frosted up surfaces.Fast forward to 2025, the ice maker all of a sudden died. We called service again (luckily we bought the extended warranty). The technician said the water line was frozen up, so he had to undo the trim and pull out the freezer. While he was doing that, he noticed there was condensation on the side of the freezer on the OUTSIDE. He said this only happens when the insulation is no good and he wouldn't be able to fix it. So there goes the freezer. It looked good while it lasted and I have to figure out what to do since it is paired up with the refrigerator. Do I want to buy another freezer that costs multiple thousands of dollars and deal with the headache again? Probably not.

We installed the fridge and freezer in our new construction home in 2022. A couple days after it hit one year old we had serious issues with our freezer. We called the company we purchased it from and also Frigidaire corporate and nobody would do anything for us. Originally our control board went bad, which is a major component. They still did not care and would not help us with any repair costs or supply a new control board. We were very disappointed given the amount of money these systems cost. We have since replaced the control board three times and the fan and had numerous other repairs. Our freezer now goes out once a month and it takes us one week to defrost and dry it out. We have no choice left but to purchase an entirely new one. We have been told by multiple repair people that this product is defective and they Seymour of these go out than any other appliance. The unfortunate thing is most people are selecting this brand because of how nice they appear and the look. I am beyond disappointed. I urge everyone to please consider using something other than this fridge and freezer combo. The fridge was fine, but the freezer is absolutely atrocious.

If you have the older version and enjoy the space and layout, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS AS A REPLACEMENT.Overall unit is 1" larger, no big deal. Whoever redesigned the interior of this fridge and freezer should be fired.The interior is 2" less deep and wide. This version has less deep shelves as well, again by 2".There is now a roller shelf on top of the bottom drawer in the fridge that eats up another 4" of space overall. You are losing 6" of space on that shelf alone and it has radius corners which eats up even MORE space.The online pictures of the interior are deceiving. The interior is stainless steel on the back (have fun keeping that clean). The door shelves are all long single pieces with the inserts for dividing them up. No more half sized that were easy to move around and clean, same applies to freezer.The photos make it look as if the door storage is half sized. Some of the bins are also about 6"-8" tall and about 3" deep (think A-1 bottle type deep), they are ridiculous. Instead of being able to get two rows of condiments, you are getting 1. These 2 bins will not hold a jar of Mayo or 1/2 Gallon of milk that is how narrow they are.The water dispenser is low profile in the fridge but the ice maker in the freezer takes up a massive amount of space in comparison to the older model.I estimate that the redesign of the interior of both units has resulted in roughly a 30% decrease in useable space. We are already at capacity in the set we have. I absolutely HATE this new set and have them listed for sale online. I won't even install them.I have attached pics of my current model and the new set that just arrived for comparison. Fridge is looking rough as I lost everything in it due to it needing to be recharged but you can see the useable space is far greater. If you have a set similar to my current set and are happy you will not be with this new set.I believe this fridge has the same useable space as any other fridge out there.

We purchased this from Lowe™€™s in early spring. Although it turned on, it never cooled. They agreed to replace it, although it was about 3 weeks before they were able to bring out a new one. Meanwhile, we were required to pay immediately for a replacement , and they didn™€™t credit us the payment for the broken one until they came out to pick it up and deliver the new one. But hey, we like Lowe™€™s, they are nice people. So we shrugged and dealt with it. The second brand new unit was like a dream, for 2 and a half months. Lived up to its potential. Until it went to half mast, into a state of cooling but not freezing. We contacted Frigidaire directly, since it had been more than 30 days since delivery. I honestly can™€™t recount how many phone calls and emails I have sent trying to get this issue resolved. It took them several weeks to find a repairman in my area. When he finally arrived, he informed us it was not reparable and they would need to send us a new one. We watched him take photos, send the report into Frigidaire, and told us Frigidaire would be calling us on Monday to arrange for a new one. I ended calling them myself when I didn™€™t hear from them. This was 2 weeks ago. Each time I call, I speak with very polite and caring people who are not located in the US and are unable to do what is needed. Yes, freezer will be replaced. No, repair report was never received. Yes, I can talk to supervisor who will call me back (Didn™€™t). I have no idea who to turn to for help.We have now been without a functioning freezer for 6 weeks. Although I am told our ticket has been expedited and is very important to them, I see no evidence of this. I have been polite through all of this. I am wondering how such a well-known company can have total disregard for their customers who spend $3000 on a freezer, yet have no access to said freezer during hot July weather. I understand that appliances take time to repair, but obviously this has passed into absurdity. I will definitely be purchasing optional coverage extension for this appliance with a company who is known to advocate for their clients. (When I finally get a working freezer.) Pro tip-make sure you have a backup freezer for the times your Pro model freezer isn™€™t functioning.

No idea why anyone would ever buy the fridge and freezer combo. We purchased our home a few years ago and the older model of these units were installed into our built-in cabinetry. We stupidly assumed the fridge/freezer were a single unit. Our old units went out after 7 years and we were forced to make a decision between a single fridge/freezer unit and extend cabinetry to fit a normal sized unit, or buy the Pro series of these separate units for $8K. $3,200 x 2 (Fridge and Freezer) add mandatory $750 trim kit if you want wheels an a professional trim finish, $100 connection pad unit, tax, and you land at $8K. In the end, you get a fridge freezer combo that mirrors the look of a subzero, but is nothing more than a shallow-depth refrigerator and freezer that sit next to each other. We chose poorly and purchased the $8K unit(s). Horrible value and decision by my wife and I. Either pay an additional few thousand dollars for a subzero or buy a standard, single unit fridge/freezer combo for half the cost. These units are the worst value on the market and the Leadership Team at Frigidaire must laugh every time a consumer is dumb enough to actually purchase these units, at this price point. Expensive lesson learned by us.
